SP: I just remember being on the ice for a really long time and Meatz ( Milica McMillen) flicked the puck up. You've been asked about it, but tell us again: how did it feel? GS: As of now, your most famous game-winner came against Wisconsin in the Frozen Four last year. SP: I think it's kind of always been that way, even in my national experiences, my provincial team, my high school team that was kind of my role - to put the puck in the net. GS: Do you think that this skill has manifested itself more in college than when you were playing high school? In pressured situations or in situations where we need goals, I find that's usually when I play my best hockey. SP: I don't think about it that much, I guess. You seem to be one of the main people that is able to put the game away when it gets to crunch time. Whenever we play each other, it's clean and just good hockey. SP: We're both very similar teams, and we're both very talented. GS: How is it playing Wisconsin? You both have so much respect for each other, it's basically two heavyweights on the ice. It's just always fun to beat them in front of our home crowd and always fun to beat our rival. SP: Probably the Wisconsin one at home when we won the first time in overtime with Kelly (who scored the game-winning goal that time) and then we also won the second game. GS: Can you pick a moment or a series from last year (besides the national championship) that stood out to you as a freshman? I know if I get the puck to them, it'll end up in the back of the net. Playing with them is very easy, and they both see the ice so well. They're two unbelievable hockey players, and they both have really bright futures. SP: Hannah and Kessel are probably two of the best players I've ever played with, but playing with Kelly and Dani is also very special. GS: How has it been adjusting to your new line (of Dani Cameranesi and Kelly Pannek) after playing with Amanda Kessel and Hannah Brandt? SP: For sure, definitely focused on this year, but sometimes we'll just reminisce about it, look at pictures on our phones. GS: Obviously you're focused on the next one, but do you still think about 2016? It's indescribable when I think about it. Doing it with that group of girls, it's something special. I knew that it was one of my dreams to do, and I believed I could do it here. Sarah Potomak: That was my dream, my goal and one of the reasons I committed here, because of the past success they had. How did it feel winning a national championship in your first go-round? caught up with the sophomore ahead of the Gophers trip to Ohio State this Friday (5:00pm) and Saturday (2:00pm). She currently sits second nationally in game-winning goals and used an overtime golden goal this past weekend to seal the sweep of Minnesota Duluth. Sarah Potomak burst onto the Gopher Women's Hockey scene, first as a dynamic freshman scorer playing on a veteran line and now as a key player in high pressure situations.
